Knitting Pattern

Approximate Size - 36" square
Worsted Weight - Approximately 18 oz or approximately 1,000 yards
Size 11 needles
Pattern: all knit (garter Stitch)
Cast on stitch
Row 1: Increase 1 (2 sts)
Row 2: Increase 1, KI (3 sts)
Rows 3-6: Increase I, k across(7 sts)
Rows 7-159-K YO, k across (160 sts after row 159)
Begin decreasing
Decrease Row: K2, K2 tog, YO, K2 tog, k across- 159 sts
Repeat decrease row until 7 sts remain on needle
Next 5 rows K2 tog, k across: (2 sts)
Last Row: K2 tog; (one st)
Finish off

 

Crochet Pattern

Little V-Stitch Crochet Blanket

Materials
Size G crochet hook
20 oz of yarn


Gauge:
4 V-sts + 5 rows = 4 inches. 

Stitch Explanation:
V-st (Dc, ch 1, dc)

Blanket:
Ch 100
Row 1: (Dc, ch 1, dc) in 5th ch from hook (V-st made), {sk 2 ch, V-st in next ch} across to last 2 ch, sk 1 ch, dc in last ch.
Row 2: ch 3, turn V-st in each ch-1 sp across, dc in top of turning ch.  Continue until blanket measures 36 inches.  Do not fasten off.

Finishing:
Border
Rnd 1: Ch 1, turn, work sc evenly spaced around blanket, working 3 sc in each corner: join with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2 (Picot Edging): (Ch 2, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sk 1 sc, sl st in next 2 sc) around, working more or fewer sl st as needed at corners to work a picot in each corner and to end rnd evenly.  Fasten off.
